When Phillip uncovered embezzlement at the large internet commerce company he worked for, he notified the local authorities. They revealed that the FBI had an investigation ongoing that his information would contribute to. But there were suspicions that some recent community disappearances could be attributed to executives at the company so they offered him the safety of Witness Protection.
Phillip knew from the limited orientation he was rushed through that he'd wake up in another person's body and he'd have to do everything he could to adopt their life. He tried to prepare himself for the shock of waking up somewhere else and someone else. He even knew he might be a woman until the resolution of the investigation. But he still never expected to wake up in the pregnant body of someone's wife in a small midwest town.
